The Premium category contains limited editions of the last of their kind handmade crystal products. These products, produced in exclusive series, are created in small quantities β often no more than 100 pieces per model β in specialized workshops in North Bohemia, where craftsmen with decades of experience apply techniques that are now on the verge of extinction.
Each piece is unique not only due to its hand-crafted nature, but also due to the variations in its crystal structure that occur during controlled cooling, which prevents internal stresses without compromising the optical properties of the end product.
What our Premium Collection includes?
This category encompasses primarily excusite wine and spirits glasses designed for maximum functionality and aesthetic pleasure. These are not mass consumer goods, but masterpieces which facets and edges are calibrated for optimal interaction with light and content, following authentic 18th century Czech methods.
Bohemian crystal glasses in the Premium series are distinguished by an elegance that surpasses standard crystal products due to fundamental differences in chemical composition, manufacturing techniques and design, making them not just vessels, but optical and functional masterpieces.
They are distinguished from all other crystal products by three main parameters:
- Chemical composition. Lead crystal with 30β32% PbO (instead of the standard 24%) is used, giving a density of 3.25 g/cmΒ³ and a refractive index of 1.58. The result is a deeper luster, a pure arc, and no yellowish tint. The crystal is melted at 1460 Β°C in small furnaces to avoid gas inclusions, and cooled slowly for 48 hours to eliminate internal stresses;
- Manufacturing technique. It remains 100% manual. The craftsman blows the product freely or in a wooden mold, after which it is cut and engraved by hand with diamond discs. The cups are 2β2.5 mm thin, the stems β balanced with an accuracy of 2 grams. The cut is usually 56β72 facets with angles of 41β42Β°, the polishing is with cerium oxide to a mirror shine. The sound when touched is a pure tone of about 820 Hz with a duration of over 12 seconds β something impossible with machine production;
- The shapes follow the classic Bohemian silhouettes of the 18thβ19th centuries, but with modern proportions: stems with a length of 22β26 cm, capacity 450β750 ml for wine, ideal geometry for oxygenation and aroma concentration. The engravings are 0.4β0.6 mm deep and are performed only by craftsmen with over 25 years of experience, which explains why the same motifs can no longer be repeated industrially.
Unlike factory made crystal products, where the design is unified and devoid of individual character, each of our premium glasses bears the unique imprint of the craftsman, with microscopic differences in the facet angles that make each piece unique.
What occasions are they suitable for?
Our Premium products are designed primarily for two occasions. The first is personal pleasure β to turn every dinner or tasting into a ritual, where the light, sound and feel in the hand are on a completely different level. The second is for a gift with high emotional value: a wedding, anniversary, jubilee, retirement or a significant corporate event.
The limited edition and hand-crafted craftsmanship turn each cup into a small artifact that will be passed down from generation to generation.
Premium is not just a more expensive series β it is the last living link to the era when Bohemian crystal was born entirely from human hands and fire. After that, such products will no longer exist in this form.
