In this section we present our unique collection of crystal light fixtures, among which we believe you will find the perfect model for your living or formal space. These are chandeliers and wall lamps, made in the Czech Republic from traditional lead crystal.
The products are suitable for residential and public spaces β dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, foyers, hotels and restaurants. We offer models with different numbers of lights and different metal finishes. All products follow the established standards for manual processing of the crystal and a construction that is fully compatible with modern electrical installations.
How can a chandelier transform an entire space?
Crystal ceiling light fixtures made of Czech lead crystal change the visual perception of a room primarily through the interaction of light with the crystal elements. Crystal with a high lead oxide content (minimum 24%) has a significantly higher refractive index than regular glass. This allows light to be refractedΒ and scattered in multiple directions as it passes through each facet or prism.
The crystal elements β hand-cut pendants, drops and faceted pieces β act like small prisms. When light falls on them, dispersion occurs: white light is split into multiple spectral colors, which are projected as light rainbows and colored reflections on the walls, ceiling and floor. This effect is especially visible in direct or slightly diffused light and is enhanced with a larger number of crystal elements.
The result is dynamic lighting: instead of uniform, static light, the room is filled with multiple points of reflection and refraction. The light is distributed unevenly β creating accents, shadows and transitions. The walls and ceiling appear more lively, and the corners β less dark. In rooms with neutral or light colors, the effect is even stronger.
The design of each crystal ceiling fixture includes symmetrical segments, cascades of pendants or radially arranged elements, which further enhances this effect. The central location of the chandelier makes the lighting the main focus of the room. Even when the main light is turned off, residual glare from natural daylight or other sources creates a sense of movement and brilliance.
Compared to ordinary lamps that provide direct or diffuse light without significant refraction, the crystal chandelier adds a unique optical effect that changes the overall perception of the space – from flat and functional to more structured, detailed and visually rich.
The History and Heritage of Bohemian Crystal
What makes our modern crystal light fixtures truly unique is Bohemian crystal, and it has a long history and rich tradition. Glassmaking in the region of Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic) began as early as the 13th century. Initially, craftsmen were influenced by Venetian techniques, but gradually developed their own methods to create cleaner and more durable glass.
The term βBohemian crystalβ first appeared in the 16th century to emphasize the qualities of the local glass compared to products from other European regions. At that time, it was still lead-free β based on a potassium-lime compound (potash and limestone), which allowed for better stability and easier cutting and engraving than the Venetian βcristalloβ.
A key moment was the beginning of the 17th century, when Caspar Lehmann β court engraver to Emperor Rudolf II in Prague β perfected the techniques of deep engraving on glass. This led to the flourishing of the Baroque style in Czech glassmaking. In the 18th century (around 1720β1770s), lead crystal with added lead oxide (PbO) appeared, which increased the refractive index, weight, and brilliance.
This formula allowed for deeper cutting, stronger light reflection, and higher transparency. Since then, Czech lead crystal has become the world standard, displacing Venetian glass as the most desirable product in Europe.
The tradition has been preserved for over 800 years thanks to family factories, craftsmen and regions such as Ε umava, Jablonec and NovΓ½ Bor. In the 19thβ20th centuries, the Czech Republic became the largest exporter of crystal products in the world, and today βBohemian Crystalβ and βCzech crystalβ are used as synonyms for the high quality of the crystal included in the construction of each ceiling light fixture.
The difference between real Bohemian crystal and ordinary glass lies mainly in its composition and properties. Ordinary glass (soda-lime glass) contains sodium carbonate, calcium oxide and silica. It is cheaper, lighter and has a lower refractive index (about 1.5). Real Bohemian/Czech crystal contains a minimum of 24% lead oxide (in some cases up to 30%), which:
Increases the refractive index to about 1.56β1.60 – stronger shine and rainbow reflections;
Increases the weight and density of the glass;
Makes the material softer for easier cutting, engraving and polishing without cracks;
Improves sound (cleaner and longer resonance when tapped).
These characteristics make Czech crystal suitable for intricate hand-working and long-term use without loss of optical qualities. For this reason, we cannot compare any of our hanging crystal light fixtures to even the most spectacular glassware on the market.
Types of lighting fixtures in our collection
Our collection includes several main series of traditional Czech lead crystal chandeliers, each with characteristic design accents that define their application. All series feature crystal dining room light fixtures with different numbers of light sources β from compact versions with 3 to 8 bulbs, through medium ones with 10 to 18, to large models with 24 to 36 bulbs. In addition to chandeliers, some series also include wall lamps that allow for combined lighting in the room.
The Traditional Finesse series is distinguished by its fine and detailed processing of the crystal elements, making it suitable for classic luxury interiors. Traditional Classe is a range that emphasizes the elegant and precise processing of the crystal with cleaner lines in a traditional style, offering balanced but impressive lighting.
In the Traditional Imperial series you will find the perfect vintage crystal light fixture for your space. It offers products with a more massive and impressive construction and more voluminous crystal elements.
Traditional Diamand is characterized by more expressive, diamond-like cuts of the crystal that enhance the brilliance, while Traditional Balance offers a simpler and more harmonious design with less complex details. This series is versatile and suitable for various classic interiors where discreet but quality lighting is needed.
Traditional De Luxe combines luxurious elements with a variety of metal finishes, while Brass Taurus features brass elements combined with crystal for a warmer, classic look. It is suitable for traditional interiors and more compact spaces, where the brass adds an additional accent to the crystal shine.
Each series allows for a choice according to the style of the interior and the lighting needs β from more subtle and compact designs to grandiose models for large spaces. Illuminated with hanging and wall crystal light fixtures dining room becomes a refined dining room, worthy of royalty. This is the difference between Bohemia Crystal lighting fixtures and all products offered on the mass market.
