The Modern Crystal 2024 category presents a collection of handcrafted lead crystal glasses for various types of drinks. Their design is created with an emphasis on minimalist and functional forms.

All products are made in the Czech Republic and marked with 24% PbO content, which means high transparency and light refraction. Our collection includes wine, champagne, whiskey, vodka, shot glasses, as well as water, tea and coffee glasses, with a volume of 50 to 450 ml. The designs rely on modern aesthetics, without unnecessary ornaments, which makes them universal for everyday and special use.

Glasses with modern design

The glasses in this collection feature clean lines and geometric shapes that highlight the natural beauty of crystal. The red wine glasses have a wide bowl with a volume of 350–400 ml and a height of about 220 mm, with a slightly narrowed rim for optimal aeration and balance in the hand. The white wine models are slimmer, with a volume of 250–300 ml and a shorter stem of 200 mm, which preserves the temperature of the drink.

Champagne flutes are tall and thin, 190–220 ml, with a fine line on the rim that allows the bubbles to slowly release. For whiskey and vodka, low tumblers of 300–320 ml are available, with a solid base for stability and a slightly beveled edge for a better grip. Shot glasses are compact, 50 ml, with a square or cylindrical shape for a modern look.

The water glasses are universal, 300–350 ml, with a minimalist design without a stem, while those for tea and coffee have handles of the same crystal or integrated with a volume of 200–250 ml, suitable for hot drinks without the risk of burning. All models are transparent, with light facets or engraved lines that enhance the glare without irritating the eyes.

Production technologies

The production of the glasses from our modern collection combines traditional Bohemian techniques with modern innovations to achieve precision and strength. The traditional process begins with melting the glass in gas furnaces at 1400 °C, where lead oxide is added for density and shine. The crystal is hand-blown by experienced craftsmen, who form the basic shape without gluing elements, which eliminates the appearance of weak points.

After cooling at a controlled temperature to avoid stresses, the facets are hand-cut with diamond wheels – each glass receives 20 to 50 cuts 1–2 mm deep to enhance refraction. Engraving is done with hand tools or magnifying glasses, creating fine lines 0.5 mm wide, mainly in geometric patterns.

Modern production methods include computer-controlled electric furnaces for uniform melting, as well as laser cutting for precise contours, which reduces waste by 15%. The final polishing is done manually with diamond powder to achieve a mirror-like surface. Each piece is checked for acoustic defects and marked with a certificate guaranteeing that it is not suitable for dishwashers, but is resistant to hand washing.
